Both
services are basically the same, although the tenor/tone of each service differs
because the 9:00 A.M. service starts with the children who will attend their religious
education classes after they hear a family homily. The
family homily explains to the children the meaning of the sermon that their parents
will hear later in the service. After
the homily, children go to their religious education programs leaving their parents
and others to attend the "grownup" service. The
11:00 A.M. service is more "adult" since there is no family homily. Try
both services and decide which one you like.
Large print hymnals,
Braille hymnals, large print bulletins, and personalized hearing assistance ear
sets are all available on Sunday mornings. Ask the ushers for them. Please
park in the lot across from the sanctuary or in the back of the sanctuary. (The
parking spaces near the church are reserved on Sunday mornings for visitors with
special mobility needs.) First
Parish Brewster's 11:00 services are on Community Access TV from Barnstable to
Provincetown. |
