We
welcome you!
During the fall, winter, and spring there are two
Sunday services: Come
as you are. Dress comfortably, as you define comfort. Bring
your children. We have a full religious education
program.
We
hope that you will enjoy our warm, casual, energized, celebrating environment.

Conversation about First Parish Update
on our Congregational Conversations
As of this message, we have held the first two (of five) of our small group congregational
conversations and the reaction has been very positive. One reason is that the
focus—originally the generation of a new mission statement—has evolved. This has
happened because of conversations that have been going on online and among the
Committee on Ministry, through which two things have become clear. First,
the church’s mission statement isn’t the problem; it’s actually a pretty good
statement.
Second, and more fundamentally, we really need to have a different kind of conversation
in which we can talk with one another openly, honestly, and safely about what
is and isn’t working for us as a community. And
that’s what this first round of conversations has become—a chance to hear from
one another what it is that we deeply and truly value about our spiritual home,
what is important to us, what makes (has made, or could make) this place “home”
for us. So
if you were planning not to get involved because you didn’t want to do “that mission
statement work” again, and if you have something to say about your experience
here in recent years, please try to make it to one of the upcoming conversations.
