First Parish Brewster has offered a unique religious voice of freedom, reason, and tolerance for over one hundred years.

Our Motto

Today our motto could well be "Diversity with Unity." We are united by our religious values: love, truth, service to others, compassion, peace, justice, reverence for life. Each person is encouraged to have a deep relationship with the Sacred. We are diverse in many ways: ages, life styles, multi-faceted theologies. We have Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Humanists, Hindus, Pagans and others worshipping together.

We are a community of young, old, gay, straight, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, native American, and transgendered people.

Celebrating Everyone's Beliefs

At First Parish, we celebrate your beliefs about life, death, the divine, good, evil, love, and service, whatever they are.

Love Is the Doctrine of First Parish Brewster

One belief shared by all members of First Parish is that love informs everything that we believe and everthing that we do.

First Parish Brewster has a wide range of programming: worship services, children and youth ministries, social justice projects, adult classes, workshops and support groups, pastoral care, a sense of vital community.

Asking the Big Questions

As the senior minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego has written:
